What is Right to Choose for ADHD?

Short answer

In England, when your GP refers you, you usually have a legal right to choose an eligible NHS-funded provider for your first specialist appointment, subject to NHS choice rules. You still need a GP referral.

How it works

When your GP agrees to refer you, ask to use Right to Choose. Name a provider that holds an NHS contract for ADHD assessments.

This only applies in England. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have their own rules.
