Right to Choose ADHD in London: find your local NHS pathway

London does not have one ADHD referral pathway. Your GP's NHS area matters. South East London has a triage route for first adult assessments in six named boroughs; do not assume it applies across London or to children.

South East London: a specific adult pathway

South East London ICB says first adult ADHD assessment referrals from 3 November 2025 use an Oxleas-delivered triage service for people living and registered with GPs in Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.

The triage service routes referrals onward, which may include qualifying Right to Choose providers. This information is about first adult assessments, not all London boroughs, children or every person with an existing diagnosis.

Find the pathway that fits your GP area

For other London boroughs, ask your GP which ICB and assessment pathway cover your registration. England's general choice rules still have eligibility conditions and exceptions.

  1. Tell your GP how the difficulties affect everyday life.
  2. Ask which local NHS ADHD referral pathway applies to you.
  3. In the six South East London boroughs, ask about first-assessment triage and onward options.
  4. Confirm the eligibility and availability of any preferred provider before a referral.

Check before your GP conversation

ADHD UK is an independent charity, not the NHS. Its Right to Choose resource can help you investigate options; your GP and the provider should confirm the current arrangements.
