        “Adults can have ADHD too.”

These guides are general information, written to be easy to read. They're not medical advice. For anything about your own health, please talk to your GP or specialist.

        ❓ Quick answers

Will I have to take medication?

No. It's your choice, made together with your specialist.

        Who checks the medication?

A specialist starts it. Your GP may take over regular checks later under a shared-care agreement.

        Can my GP say no?

Your GP decides if a referral is clinically right for you. If they refer you, you can usually choose an eligible provider, subject to NHS choice rules.
