Access to Work and ADHD: what support you can ask for

Access to Work is a UK government scheme that can help if a physical or mental health condition or disability makes it harder to do your job. You don't need a formal ADHD diagnosis to check whether you could apply.

Screening is not a diagnosis. You can ask for help without being certain that ADHD is the explanation.

What Access to Work is

GOV.UK says Access to Work can provide a grant to pay for practical support at work, or support with your mental health at work. It isn't a benefit and doesn't affect other benefits you get.

  1. Read the eligibility details on GOV.UK.
  2. Write down how your difficulties affect specific parts of your job.
